The HARRT Round Table discussion will focus on “Critical Issues for Business and HR in 2013”. Rebecca L. Ray, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Human Resources, The Conference Board will present the results of the Conference Board’s 2013 CEO Challenge Report, Countering the Global Slowdown: Optimizing Talent and Operational Performance. This annual survey polls 700 CEO’s worldwide to see what the critical issues facing executives are and how they foresee addressing these concerns. Rebecca will speak to these challenges from a Human Capital perspective addressing any Round Table questions that are posed. A distinguished panel of CEO’s and Presidents from HARRT member organizations will share their perspectives of the challenges facing their organizations and industries: Avi Steinlauf, CEO,Edmunds.com, Julia Guow, President, COO, East West Bank and Philip de Toledo, President, Capital Group. In particular, they will comment on how they see HR adding value to their organizations and business objectives. The objective of this meeting is to share the diversity of ways across organizations and industries that HR can and has added value in the context of our confidentiality policy. With this in mind, we seek to enrich the roles and value that our HR members contribute to the talent leadership and human capital strategies in their respective organizations. As preparation for this Round Table, we are asking our membership and company guests to talk with their CEO’s or Presidents in advance about the challenges facing their organization and industry and how HR can add value. We plan to discuss human capital strategies and approaches to challenges within the small groups and summarize the key contributions at the conclusion of the meeting. Members will receive a copy of the CEO Challenge Report and the slide presentation at the conclusion of the event.
