Part 2: Survey Results

Part 2 will cover the highlights of a survey of HARRT corporate members with respect to their business and talent management priorities, level of utilization of social media and issues which have surfaced as they consider, adopt or derive value from various social media platforms and enterprise tools. The results of this survey will be used in the formulation of issues and questions to address as well as lay the foundation for individual social media strategies for each HARRT member.

Part 5: Small Group Discussion: – Next Steps in Planning & Implementation

In small groups members will meet to discuss their internal challenges and develop action plans for integrating social media into their organizations based on their highest priorities and respective cultures. Priorities may include expert identification, crowdsourcing, fostering ideation/innovation as well as how social media can tie into overall performance management goals. Consideration may also be given to how employee feedback can translate into action-oriented changes and what safeguards are needed to protect intellectual property. Plans will address the role of HR in facilitating use, managing risk and measuring success.

Session III: “Impact of the Elections on Public Policy and the Economy”

Part 1: ‘The Most Important Election of Our Lifetime’ : Now What?

This presentation will provide an overview of the November 6, 2012, election results–including the race for the presidency, control of the Senate and House of Representatives, and other relevant patterns that emerge nationally across the states–and put them in historical context. The presentation will consider what factors influenced the outcome and explore the implications for ongoing partisan polarization, the risk of stalemate, and the prospects for addressing the major problems facing the country. Particular attention will be given to the future of the Affordable Care Act and its implementation.

Part 2: Recovering from the Recovery: An Outlook for the U.S. and California Economies
